SANFORD, Fla. – ADAPCO, a distributor of mosquito control products, announced it has acquired Red River Specialties, a herbicide distributor serving the southeastern United States. The acquisition makes ADAPCO and Red River a leading chemical distributor in the markets of mosquito control, forestry, Industrial Vegetative Management (IVM), range and pasture weed control, and aquatics.

"This acquisition made sense given Red River’s core approach to the market, its business principles, and its organizational climate and culture are aligned with that of ADAPCO’s,” said Steve Burt, ADAPCO's President and CEO. “With honesty and integrity as the cornerstones of both companies, our respective market leadership will result in a professional distribution business that maintains a commitment to serving its customers and suppliers.”

ADAPCO and Red River each hold strong brand equity in their respective product and geographic markets, and together form a diversified and value-added distributor and marketer of specialized pesticide and herbicide products to professional customers.

Mike Cage of Red River Specialities added: "By combining with ADAPCO we join forces with a strategic partner that has a common philosophy and the capital and infrastructure to allow us to continue to expand our franchise and better serve our suppliers and customers."

With ADAPCO’s acquisiton of Red River, the company is positioned for continued organic growth as it serves the highly specialized pesticide and herbicide markets, as well as poised to extend its product offering into new markets and applications. ADAPCO and Red River Specialties will continue to operate under their current company names.
