COLUMBIA, Md. – Nemetschek Vectorworks, a provider of CAD and Building Information Modeling (BIM) software solutions promoted Maria Bible, CPA, to chief financial officer. Bible assumed her role in September 2012, following six successful years as the company’s controller.

As CFO, Bible drives efficiency improvements across several areas, including systems and the accurate and timely reporting of historical financial information. She also oversees the company’s capital structure and determines the best mix of debt, equity and internal financings.

“Over the last few years, our sales have grown substantially and have become increasingly complex due to the success of our Vectorworks Service Select subscription program,” said Sean Flaherty, CEO at Nemetschek Vectorworks. “Maria’s financial acumen and strong leadership skills will capably ensure that the accounting department keeps up with such demands while striving to increase the efficiency of all accounting transactions. Maria is intensely deadline-driven and directs her team to follow a strict schedule to meet all internal and external reporting requirements. I welcome her to the executive team.”

Bible’s previous experience includes working as a Financial Operations Principal for Capital Financial Group’s $45-million-dollar broker-dealer H. Beck, Inc. In this role, she was responsible for coordinating financial reporting to the executive team, as well as the timely filing of required reports with the SEC. She also coordinated the company’s periodic regulatory and annual financial statement audits.

She gained additional experience in mutual funds, contracts, and accounting while serving in various roles at the State of Maryland’s Office of Legislative Audits, Alex Brown (later purchased by Deutsche Bank), and Chevy Chase Bank.

Bible received a bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of Maryland, College Park. She earned her Certified Professional Accountant (CPA) credential in 2006, and is a member of the Maryland Association of CPAs.

When not in the office, Bible likes to spend time with her husband and two young children. She also enjoys rock climbing, SCUBA diving, and skiing, as well as archeology and traveling. Among her travels, she has skied Mont Blanc, dove in Puerto Rico, and hiked part of the Inca Trail in her native Peru.
