Selling Christmas items keeps things festive and creative at Outdoor Environments.

Kristen Hampshire | March 25, 2014

The holiday season is compressed into roughly four weeks, when greenery is the theme at Outdoor Environments. Lise Goedewaagen joined a friend making holiday wreaths about 10 years ago. “I started helping him out, then that has grown … and has been wonderful,” she says.

Outdoor Environments creates handmade wreaths, and now the shop also sells Christmas trees, garland and all of the accouterments to decorate a home for the holidays. Indeed, it’s holiday frenzy – and, it is a push.

Percentage-wise, the wreath business is a small portion of her overall business. But it’s time-consuming during the holidays – and Goedewaagen doesn’t mind. “It’s really creative and exciting, and another aspect of my business that has grown and grown,” she says.

Partnering with a seasoned veteran in the holiday wreath business helped get the service started, and thriving, at Outdoor Environments. And, Goedewaagen’s stable of clients is loyal and enjoy the convenience of purchasing their wreath from their gardener. “It’s just a blast,” Goedewaagen says
