The company joins other sustained-growth companies on the magazine's 'Build 100' list.

HAYWARD, Calif. -- Arborwell Professional Tree Management, California's leading commercial tree care company, has been named to Inc. Magazine's 'Build 100' list, a group of U.S. businesses who have managed to maintain consistent growth and increased headcount for five consecutive years.

Inc. Magazine began the Build 100 project by collecting data on more than 100,000 U.S. midmarket companies (those with 85 to 999 employees). They looked at how many increased head count in every year from 2007 to 2012. Remarkably, fewer than 1.5 percent of the companies met that standard. Of those that did, Inc. selected a representative sample that agreed to work with them on a long-term research project to understand the factors responsible for sustained growth.

"I strongly believe it's about how we've been able to attract and retain the right people - by letting them be entrepreneurial and create their own paths," says Andy LaVelle, President of Arborwell. "Our happy employees have led to happy customers, the combination of which has led to great results – and the cycle continues to repeat.  In essence, we provide an environment for people to flourish."

Since the company's start in 2001, Arborwell has continued to grow. Between the years 2005 and 2008, Arborwell grew 78.9% and almost doubled in annual revenue. The company now has over 170 employees across the state of California and annual revenue of over $22 million. A combination between strategic marketing and relationship strengthening with new and existing customers has expanded the company's territory across Northern and Southern California. Arborwell opened a Tree Moving Division in 2012, an effort that has helped the company enter into a new piece of the tree care market. Arborwell continues to grow and develop new business in all seven of its operations locations statewide.
