WEBINAR: Taking The Risk Out Of Snow Removal

Web Extra

New snowfall contracts could be a game changer for professional snowfall contractors. Watch the Webinar to get all of the details.

So much of being a successful snow removal contractor depends upon it actually snowing. A snow fighter can have well-trained crews operating the best equipment but he’s still powerless to control Mother Nature.

But what if you could mitigate the risk associated with a below- or above-average winter?

Lawn & Landscape, in partnership with Chicago Weather Brokerage (http://www.cwbrokerage.com), will bring to the professional snow removal market snowfall contracts, developed by CME Group, the world’s larges and most diverse derivatives exchange, that will allow contractors to manage the financial risk related to the ups and downs of an unpredictable snow season. The CME Group’s snowfall contracts will be available for purchase on Dec. 7.

The Webinar, which features Lawn & Landscape Publisher Kevin Gilbride and the CWB’s Jeff Hodgson, explains how the snowfall contracts work and it outlines various scenarios in which the contracts would come into play for a professional snow removal contractor.

“This is a viable new tool that will allow landscape contractors to offset the financial risk inherent in offering snow and ice removal services,” Gilbride says. “It will also allow contractors to assist their commercial clients to better manage their risks in the event of an unfavorable winter.”
