Project EverGreen, SiteOne partner to recruit volunteers

A pilot program will provide discounts for new GreenCare for Troops volunteers.

Cleveland – Project EverGreen’s GreenCare for Troops initiative needs contractor volunteers. Both Project EverGreen and SiteOne Landscape Supply along with leading industry suppliers are stepping up to help recruit new volunteers to help military families and post-9/11 veterans with a service-connected disability in their time of need.

Through a pilot program being offered in Connecticut, Massachusetts and New York, new volunteers who register for GreenCare for Troops and agree to help at least one military family with free lawn and landscape services will be rewarded with discounts from a variety of suppliers. Click here to visit the program page.

New GreenCare for Troops volunteers who complete the online registration will receive an email with special discount coupons redeemable at SiteOne locations in Connecticut, Massachusetts and New York for select turf maintenance and control product purchases.  Participating companies in the initial launch include FMC, Lebanon Turf, Nufarm and PBI-Gordon.

“These valuable services provide military families and wounded and disabled veterans with peace of mind and freedom to heal,” said Cindy Code, executive director of Project EverGreen. “A managed lawn and yard provides vital outdoor space for military personnel, disabled veterans and their families to begin their recovery and re-connect with their families.”

GreenCare for Troops is in its 12th year of providing complimentary lawn and landscape services for the families of currently deployed military personnel, and post-9/11 disabled veterans with a service-connected disability.

Nufarm is the presenting sponsor and Toro is the platinum sponsor of the GreenCare for Troops program.
