Joe Broyles named NYSTLA Person of the Year

Joe Broyles has been selected by the New York State Turf & Landscape Association as its person of the year.

Broyles, senior regional account manager for Plant Health Care, will accept the honor at the association’s spring meeting in March.

Broyles and his wife, Mary, volunteer their time on behalf of many organizations, including LINLA and the NSLGA. He is often seen at area trade shows throughout the Northeast, representing his product line. 

He is presently or has served on the advisory boards of Farmingdale State College Ornamental Horticulture Committee, NYS Agriculture and Markets, Cornell IPM Committee, New York City Releaf Committee, Greening of Nassau, Old Westbury Environmental Committee and the Old Westbury Architectural Review Board.

Broyles maintains certification in commercial categories for demonstration and research on ornamental shade tree and turf, and is a graduate of Farmingdale State College. He also is affiliated with the professional organizations Long Island Arboicultural Association, Nassau/Suffolk Landscape Gardeners Association, International Society of Arboriculture, Long Island Nursery & Landscape Association, NYS Arborists Association, Connecticut Tree Protective Association and the NYS Nursery and Landscape Association.
