Clients who live out of town trust Rising Sun to take care of important packages and protect property.

Kristen Hampshire | August 2, 2012

Rising Sun Maintenance is not a logistics company per se. But the high-level concierge service the firm offers its customers does require close attention to detail. Clients treat Rising Sun as the single point of contact for all of their property needs-and that includes shipping and receiving.

FedEx and UPS boxes arrive daily at Rising Sun. Customers who live elsewhere are shipping things to their homes in Manchester/Dorset, Vt., and they want someone they can depend on to take the packages to their homes. Rather than having a box sit on their front porch, they call Dave Lawrence.

The same goes for shipping. If a client needs something from their home in Vermont shipped to wherever they’re living, Lawrence will coordinate the process. He or one of the four others who handle house checking, will gather the requested items, box them and ship them from Rising Sun to the client.

“Our client are not here all the time, and this is just easier for them,” Lawrence says of his company serving as a sort of community P.O. Box.

This service works in hand with the company’s house checking, where trusted members of the Rising Sun team make sure that properties are safe and sound. They take turns watching homes so a different set of eyes is always on the property keeping a lookout.

The peace of mind that house-checking and concierge services provide clients pretty much ensures that Lawrence has customers for life. His clients are loyal and appreciate all of the extras.

And as for coordinating the extra duties a property requires, Lawrence says, “This is a very small community, and we all know each other. We all work together.”
