SAN DIEGO, Calif. – There was a tangerine wave on San Diego’s Mission Beach on Saturday morning. Team members from the Escondido and San Diego branches, along with the corporate office, worked with San Diego Coastkeeper for 2017’s Community Care Day to clean up the beach and the surrounding areas.

Trash on the beach, picnic areas and surrounding locations all gets washed into the ocean. As a landscaping company, it’s important to protect nature and beautifying the environment is always our goal. The team met early to have breakfast burritos and distribute shirts. The bright tangerine tees meant one could spot LandCare’s people up and down the beach. People saw the shirts and came up to ask about the organization and say thank you for cleaning the beach.

The next generation of landscapers was also in attendance as team members brought their families with them for a fun morning of community service. The team found some odd stuff including individual shoes, articles of clothing, a tennis racket, rollerblades and several dead animals. At the end of the morning, the team had collected more than 230 pounds of trash.
