HARRISBURG, Pa. – The Association of Professional Landscape Designers (APLD) 16th Annual International Design Conference will rock Cleveland from June 13-17 and showcase some of the finest area gardens throughout the week.
From top notch gardens to informative workshops, APLD is planning a conference focused on the latest developments in landscape design. APLD will also honor the annual International Landscape Design Awards program winners. Each year, APLD bestows the coveted title of “Landscape Designer of the Year” to the highest valued entry in this competition.
“Cleveland really does rock! In terms of landscape design, it rocks because of the wide variety of gardens we will be visiting," said Bobbie Schwartz, president of APLD. “I will be proud to share Cleveland with attendees and I know they will leave with a new impression of the city.” Kicking off the conference in style, the opening reception will be held at the House of Blues, which is just a short walk from the hotel.
Inspirational workshops focused on sustainability, social media skills and fostering creativity are planned. A complete list of conference workshops, garden tours and exhibitor showcase participants is available at www.apld.org
Hundreds of professional landscape designers from the United States and Europe are expected to attend APLD’s conference at the downtown Marriott and will tour 14 gardens in the surrounding area. Ten additional gardens can be visited during the post conference sessions.
“Cleveland is a unique city that has a lot to offer. The vibrancy of the downtown is just one of the reasons we chose Cleveland as our host city this year,” said Denise Calabrese, executive director of APLD. “The conference is a chance to get together with designers from throughout the world, share ideas and learn from each other.”
