HERNDON, Va.—The National Association of Landscape Professionals partnered with the Harvest Group to host the People Academy Live, a human resources workshop, Nov. 14-16 in Costa Mesa, California. The workshop’s goal is to help landscape and lawn care contractors to grow their businesses, reduce stress, decrease liability and have a better work/life balance.

The two-day course and Park West facility tour will focus on creating a better company culture and compliance structure. It will also provide strategies to recruit, onboard and develop contractors’ staffs. Industry veterans from the Harvest Group plan to teach the event, including Ed Laflamme, Bill Arman and Steve Cesare.

“The biggest problem landscapers face each day is people — finding, recruiting, hiring, onboarding and keeping them — and that’s why we created the People Academy Live,” Laflamme said. “People will benefit from the incredible knowledge of my partner, Bill Arman, who was vice president of HR for The Valley Crest Companies, personally interviewing over 5,000 people and reviewed some 100,000 resumes, and Steve Cesare, who is without a doubt the country’s leading expert in this field.”

Attendees receive a free copy of the Harvest Recruiting Kit, as well. The People Academy Live is also approved for Landscape Industry Certified recertification at 1 CEU per hour of instruction attended. Attendees will also receive at no cost the NALP 2017 Employee Compensation Report, which is valued at $150.
