Attendee registration opened for the Ohio Nursery and Landscape Association’s annual regional conference, Midwest Green Industry Experience (MGIX). The event takes place Jan. 15-17, 2018, at the Greater Columbus Convention Center in Columbus, Ohio.

Green industry professionals can register for the event online here. Early-bird registration fees range from $15 to $259, with discounted prices ending Dec. 20.

MGIX will feature more than 90 education sessions, which comprise a variety of topics from business to marketing to irrigation to lighting trends. Educators from The Ohio State University will lead 24 sessions focused on pest and disease management and horticulture research.

The 2018 show floor features more than 200 exhibitors, a new product showcase and a garden lounge. New for the 2018 show, product demonstrations and educational presentations will take place on a feature stage. Another demonstration stage, Climbers’ Corner, will focus on arboriculture education and climbing techniques.

MGIX attendees will also have opportunities to connect with like-minded professionals and build relationships. MGIX kicks off with an opening night party at 4 p.m. Jan. 15 in exhibit hall. On the evening of Jan. 16, MGIX After Dark will invite attendees and exhibitors for drinks and appetizers at the Secret Cellar, an event venue across from the Convention Center. Both events are free to attend for MGIX badge holders.

Attendees can also come to ONLA’s annual awards ceremony at 7 p.m. on Jan. 14. The association will present the winners of its 45th annual Landscape Awards as well as the recipients of ONLA’s Professional Awards and the 2018 Scholarships.

In addition, attendees and exhibitors are welcome to bring their spouses and families to MGIX to participate in family-friendly activities and education sessions on Sunday, Jan. 14, and Monday, Jan. 15. On Jan. 14, attendees can participate in pre-conference education sessions focused on the unique challenges of owning or working for a family business and in the evening families can join attendees for the MGIX Sunday Dinner. On Jan. 15, three additional education sessions focus on family business topics, while all ages can enjoy entertainment by the Bug Man and the Columbus Zoo. Separate registration fees may apply for the family programs and more details are available here.
