HERNDON, Va. – PLANET has released the “Interior Plantscape Reference & Study Manual.” Produced in partnership with Landscape Ontario, the publication is a training tool for the interior plantscaper and recommended to prepare for the Landscape Industry Certified Interior Technician exam.
“The Interiorscape Industry Coalition (IIC) made it their strategic goal to advance industry professionalism by developing a relevant certification program,” said Chris Raimondi, chair of PLANET’s Interior Specialty Group. “PLANET and Landscape Ontario made great strides toward accomplishing this goal by publishing this very professional and comprehensive guide. This is a true testament of the interior landscape industry’s commitment to progress and future success. “
Topics covered include plant basics and nutrition; soil quality; diagnosis and control of interior plant problems; green wall basics; and pest, plant, and people management, to name a few. The author, horticultural educator Fred Prescod, shares his more than 28 years of experience in the interior plantscape industry through the manual’s 136 pages. The book includes an extensive profile section of many of the foliage plants used to enhance interior spaces.
“I just received my copy of the new study guide and to say that I am thrilled with the result is an understatement,” said Stephen Schell, chair of Interior Landscape Group, Landscape Ontario. ”This new guide is a great example of the way that Landscape Ontario and PLANET both benefit from working together. What neither association could have done separately has been rapidly completed in a partnership, producing a world-class guide that will help every company that uses it as an invaluable training tool.”
“The Interior Plantscaping Reference & Study Manual” is bundled with the ‘Guide to Interior Landscape Specifications” to provide installation standards and business concepts. To purchase the new publications, visit PLANET’s bookstore or contact 800-395-2522.
