Home & Turf becomes second LandOpt license location in Virginia.

| January 2, 2013

PITTSBURGH, Pa. – Tappahannock, Virginia is the latest in a growing list of LandOpt license locations as Home & Turf has become a LandOpt contractor. Home & Turf adds to the LandOpt Network’s burgeoning Mid-Atlantic presence as the second contractor in Virginia.

Located approximately 50 miles northeast of Richmond, Va., Home & Turf is owned by Robert Shackelford and serves commercial and residential customers in the eastern and central portions of the Commonwealth from Virginia Beach to Fredericksburg. The company provides all aspects of landscaping, including maintenance services, irrigation and lawn care, as well as the installation of hardscapes, ponds, putting greens and design lighting.

Now that he has made the decision to join the Network, his expectations for immediate impact fall within two realms. “First, I’m eager to hire a sales professional and shift from a bid approach to a proactive sales process,” he noted. Secondarily, he welcomes the opportunity to “adopt systems and define roles within our organization that will create accountability across all fronts and allow us all to be more efficient.”

Shackleford does not hesitate when asked about his vision for the company’s future. “Growth has always been my main priority,” stated the owner. In addition to revenue growth, he also has his sight set on adding additional locations, and sees LandOpt’s systems and processes as the path that will lead him to his goals. “As a LandOpt Contractor, I think Home & Turf can avoid the growth ceiling that many in our industry encounter when they reach $4-5 million in size. I look at this as a new beginning in many respects and truly see unlimited potential for growth,” he said.
