Project EverGreen has picked Fort Myers, Fla., as the next city to preserve and enhance green space for the community. 

Allen Fugler with the Florida Pest Management Association volunteered to represent FPMA and has been involved in the selection of a project site for more than six months. After reviewing nearly a dozen potential project sites, Fugler and other supporting partner organizations decided upon the Imaginarium Science Center as the location of the green renovation. The Imaginarium had already established plans to create a Backyard Nature exhibit in Southwest Florida and needed some additional support to get the project off the ground.

In the first quarter of 2012, Project EverGreen volunteers will descend upon the Imaginarium to assist with the site layout and exhibit build-out efforts in order that generations to come may learn more about responsible and realistic growth and irrigation practices that they can implement in their own communities. In addition to the partners that have already signed on to help, Project EverGreen is asking other industry professionals and companies to sign on to help, whether by donating a few hours of work for site planning or exhibit planting or through monetary or in-kind donations to off-set the costs associated with the project.
