ACWORTH, Ga. – The Southern Nursery Association (SNA) announced its new board of directors elected at the 114th Annual SNA Business Meeting held during the Gulf States Horticultural Exposition in Mobile, Ala.

Newly elected president, Bill Boyd, is serving his second term on the SNA Board. He served his first term from 2002-2007, serving as president in 2006. Eelco Tinga Jr. is serving his second term on the SNA Board as well. He served his first term on the SNA Board from 2005-2010, and served as SNA president in 2009.

"It is an honor to have these two well-seasoned and knowledgeable men serving on the SNA Board during this time,” said Danny Summers, board advisor, SNA. "They both understand where SNA has been and where we need to go. Their wisdom can help steer us in the right direction as we set new goals for the future."

Newly elected Board Member Michael Hobbs is president of Warren County Nursery, McMinnville, Tenn. A third generation nurseryman, Hobbs has been active in the industry for more than 40 years. Founded by his father and mother, Leslie and Frances Hobbs, in 1950, Warren County Nursery is a wholesale field growing operation and greenhouses for liner production, offering a complete line of bareroot seedlings, cuttings, liners, vines, wildflowers, fruit and nut trees, balled and burlap shrubs, shade trees, ornamentals and evergreens. Warren County Nursery has more than 400 acres in production and over the past 60 years has become recognized as a supplier of native plants used in wetlands and reforestation plantings.
