LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Online registration is now open for the 2011 GIE+EXPO, which will be held in Louisville Oct. 27-29.

Those who register now will be entered to win tickets to Kentucky’s first-ever Sprint Cup to be held July 9 in Ft. Mitchell, Ky. The Sprint Cup will feature racing heavyweights including Dale Earnhardt Jr., Jeff Gordon and Jimmie Johnson.

GIE+EXPO’s Refer-a-Friend program will award an Apple iPad to one lucky winner. To enter, registrants must register online and then send an online invitation to others. Those invited will get a special code to enter upon registering in order to be entered into the drawing. The winner will be announced at the show.

An early-bird registration fee of $10 is being offered until September 14. After that, pre-registration will be $25. The onsite registration fee will be $50. Go to www.gie-expo.com to register and learn more about show updates, events and Refer-a-Friend.

GIE+EXPO is sponsored by the Outdoor Power Equipment Institute (OPEI), Professional Landcare Network (PLANET) and Professional Grounds Management Society (PGMS).  It is now the 14th largest tradeshow in America, according to Trade Show Executive magazine.

Bill Harley, president and CEO of OPEI, said many of the event’s popular features will return in 2011, including the New Products Arena, the two-day outdoor demonstration area and the Green Industry Conference. Additionally, Hardscape North America will again co-locate at GIE+EXPO 2011. New features will be announced in the coming months through the media and the website.

"There’s always something to see, always something to learn at GIE+EXPO. And, if it can help your bottom line and make your business easier, then it’s well worth it to be there,” said Scott Muehlhauser, president of Scotts Power Equipment and one of the 17,000 participants at the 2010 event.  “If you’ve never been to GIE+EXPO, you have got to get there.”
