AMES, Iowa – Charles Whitt has joined Becker Underwood as communications manager for our United States and Mexico based operations. Whitt will focus on several product lines which include beneficial nematodes, inoculants, seed enhancements and turf and horticulture.

“We are excited to have Charles as part of our team,” stated Charlie Hale, Becker Underwood’s marketing strategy & support lead. “Over the last few years, the company has experienced tremendous growth, largely due to the development and introduction of an array of innovative new products. Included among these are a growing lineup of products which take advantage of relationships between plants and naturally-occurring microorganisms that can be harnessed to help improve crop performance. We strongly believe we are offering our customers the best and most cutting edge technology available and now need to focus a greater effort on getting that message into the marketplace. Charles and his team will accelerate our efforts to accomplish those goals.”

In his new position, Whitt will lead Becker Underwood’s U.S. and Mexico product marketing communications efforts, providing both strategic and tactical leadership in the development and execution of all aspects of the company's communications with both external and internal customers.

“There are so many different ways that our products can have a positive impact for our customers,” Whitt said. “I am very happy to be part of a culture that prides itself on being the market leader. When you have the quality products which Becker Underwood has, it allows us to provide meaningful and educational information that directly and immediately will impact the bottom line of our customers.”

Previously, Whitt has worked for iconic brands with General Electric and Caterpillar. He joins Becker Underwood from Bunting Magnetics Co. in Kansas where he was vice president, marketing and communications for the past four years. Whitt has obtained his MBA from the University of Rochester and received his Bachelor’s degree in History from the University of Missouri.
