Zipper Mowers has appointed Thomas R. Glaze as vice president and general manager of Zipper Mowers.

“We are excited to have Tom come aboard with us at Zipper,” said Lutz Hahne, chairman of the board of Onyx Environmental Solutions, parent company of Zipper Mowers. “We have made a great quality product for years. Tom’s experience and ability in the manufacturing and marketing spaces in power equipment will give Zipper the jump that we are seeking as we endeavor to assume our rightful place in the marketplace.”

“We have hit the ground running hard since I’ve been here” said Glaze. “We have instituted new quality control practices to insure our products meet the highest standards for quality and consistency, and we are launching two entirely new products to the line this year to give our dealers and our users more of the Zipper product line to work with and choose from. It’s been an ambitious first six months, but things are off to a great start.”

Zipper is launching two new products to its line later this year.  This represents a doubling of the number of models in the Zipper line up for season 2011.

Zipper Mowers, established in 1992, is a manufacturer of commercial lawn mowers and attachments for a variety of landscaping solutions. Zipper, headquartered in Augusta, Kan., has been focusing its efforts on many growth focused efforts including the restructuring of its production facilities. By expanding their product line, they plan to expand their market.

Glaze joined Zipper Mowers in June of 2010, after a very successful career at Maruyama US, where he began as a regional sales manager and, after a successful sales career, was promoted to general manager and then corporate vice president of Maruyama US. He lives in Plano, Texas, with his wife Nancy and is planning relocation to Augusta soon.
