SavATree provides maintenance and developmental pruning at Bergen County Zoo.

| May 24, 2010

BERGEN, N.J. — Senior managers from SavATree  donated their time and provided maintenance and developmental pruning around animal habitats and throughout the Bergen County Zoo in Paramus, N.J., on Tuesday, May 18.

The zoo is home to a variety of wild and domestic animals, all living in recreated habitats natural to each species. Maintaining shade areas is critical to the health of animals kept in captivity, and trees help replicate a similar environment to what the animals would experience in their natural surroundings.

Paul Carbone, N.J. District Sales Manager and Certified Arborist with SavATree, says, "This is SavATree's way of giving back to the community. I picked the zoo because, as an animal lover, I thought it would be a lot of fun." Carbone adds, "The zoo and park are special to area residents, so it's very exciting for us to have the opportunity to make a contribution to such a worthy cause."

Luann O'Brien, VP of Sales and Marketing with SavATree, said the Bergen County Parks team has a limited budget and appreciated the donation.

The zoo will celebrate its 50th anniversary this year. SavATree's efforts as well as the efforts of many other volunteers and zoo staff will help to get the zoo into top condition for the festivities.
