| August 26, 2010

FALLS CHURCH, Va. - The Irrigation Association Education Foundation is now accepting entries for its seventh annual student essay/video contest. The 2010 theme is “The role of irrigation in sustainability.” Winners – both the student and faculty advisor – receive all-expenses-paid trips to the 2010 Irrigation Show in Phoenix Dec. 5-7.

Winners will be named in two categories: agriculture and turf/landscape. Valued at more than $2,500, the trip gives students opportunities to network with thousands of potential employers, attend free education classes and learn about the latest irrigation technologies and products. Any student enrolled in an irrigation-related program at a college, university or technical school as of Oct. 1, 2010, is eligible to enter.

Essays should be no less than 1,500 words and videos must be three to five minutes in length. Entries, along with a completed application, must be submitted by Friday, Oct. 1. Winners will be selected and notified no later than Oct. 29.
