Steven passed away October 23 at the age of 50.

Steven "Rabbit" H. Rapisarda, a lifelong resident of Rockland & Orange Counties, of New Windsor entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, October 23, 2013 at New York Presbyterian Hospital, Manhattan. He was 50 years old.
 
The son of Salvatore & Barbara (Santangelo) Rapisarda, he was born December 3, 1962 in Bronx, NY. He married Judy Gruenbaum Rapisarda on October 11, 1987 at Rockland Lake Manor in Congers, NY.
 
For the past ten years, Steve worked as Branch Manager at Aquarius Supply in Hawthorne, NJ. During this time, he assisted landscapers with finding solutions to any business problem presented. Many customers would seek Steve's advice whenever they faced a difficult turf challenge. Steve was passionate about helping the green industry grow. He was an active member in the New Jersey Landscape Contractors Association (NJLCA), the Irrigation Association of New Jersey (IANJ) and the Professional Landscape Association of Rockland County. Steve was never too busy to help others. He had a loyal customer following due to his passion, positive attitude, his willingness to extend himself and sacrifice for the benefit of others. "Steven Rapisarda was a wonderful and loving husband, father, son, brother and friend. He was a devoted family man and a constant source of strength to his wife and daughters ("his girls").
 
During Steven's battle with cancer, he fought with strength and dignity. Steven was surrounded by his family when his battle ended and he will always be remembered as our hero." In addition to his wife, Judy, survivors include his daughters, Brianne and Kimberly Rapisarda, of New Windsor; his siblings, Anne, Michael & Lynn; nieces and nephews, Harly, Max, Isaiah, Jaclyn, Billy, Kristen, Michael & Matthew.
 
Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 pm on Sunday, October 27, 2013 at Brooks Funeral Home, 481 Gidney Ave, Newburgh, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Francis of Assisi Church, Newburgh at 11 am on Monday, October 28. Burial will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Newburgh. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions on Steven's behalf will be accepted at www.gofundme.com/teamrap.
