Supplier News

The systemic fungicide controls more than 20 turf diseases.

| November 7, 2011

Headway G fungicide, the newest addition to the Syngenta granular product portfolio for the lawn care industry, delivers the effectiveness of a spray but in granular form. Headway G has received registration from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency for use on residential and commercial lawns.

Headway G, featuring the DG-Lite carrier, controls more than 20 turf diseases. It has been tested and proven effective against dollar spot, brown patch, anthracnose, Pythium spp., gray leaf spot, snow mold, take-all patch, leaf spot, summer patch, necrotic ring spot and more.

“Granular products are preferred by many professional lawn care operators,” said Bob Goglia, brand manager, Syngenta. “We’re proud to introduce Headway G, which provides the efficacy of a sprayed fungicide in a spreadable formulation. The introduction of this product into the lawn care industry gives lawn care operators a reliable broad-spectrum fungicide that requires no mixing and no traveling with a water tank, while providing confidence that it will minimize customer call-backs.”

Additional features and benefits of Headway G include:

•    The formulation features azoxystrobin plus propiconazole; propiconazole helps control dollar spot in high-pressure areas

•    The high solubility of the DG-Lite carrier allows the active ingredient to quickly reach the plant and helps eliminate granule “wash-away” during heavy rains

•    The granular formulation allows for application even when wind conditions prohibit spraying, or when soft ground won’t allow a heavy sprayer to be used

Headway G is not currently registered for use or sale in all states. Please check with your state or local extension service prior to buying or using this product.
