“It’s really exciting to have joined the Brickman team,” said Dan Foley. “We’re looking forward to growing the business here in the New England area.”

“Boston is one of the last remaining large markets in the country where our clients needed us to be,” said COO Jeff Herold.

BRICKMAN is all smoke and mirrors. From the outside they look like they have it all together but on the inside they are trash. Not all branches are this way the majority are. They do not serve the client like the clients think they do. If the clients only knew how BRICKMAN really ran business and how many hours, material, quality these clients were being cheated out of things would be different. Of course if you have the backing of millions of dollars you could make people believe what they wanted to believe.

Hey how much did D. Foley Landscapes walk away with???

Im ready for a buy out...

ALBERTO GALVAN Rating:
Im new to this Lawn & Landscape Business. I dont focus on what the others do i foucs on me and my company and the very best job i can do for my cusotmers. They hire me to take care the things they dont have time for or just cant do. I give them and fair price and the end result they give me more work to do for them. When it comes to equipment we are the ones that buy it up. there are more smaller business like me that are in this business and need equipment so we can set the standard are the equipment we buy and use. We all need to look at this what does it take make a living in this business and to also put away. Ive seen companys that are in this business and they are about greed and not taking care of the cusotmer and that's why the cusomter is always look for someone else. Note we cant please all customers and that's just the way it is. and as far as about hiring people that are not from here. look at it this way they could leave the company there working for and do the job for alot less. all it takes to get in this Business is a push mower and blower and weed eater and the determation to succeed. When i started this Business i made God my business partner and he has not sent me in the wrong direction. So really think about what is the main focus here. Big companys are always buying out each to get rid of the compation but we are small but were still a threat because were small and we can keep our overhead down. I know one thing for sure when i said my God is my Business partner he is keeping me debit free in this business for my equipment. In closing some of you may not like what i say and some may. but the fact is were all in this Business and we need to set ourselves apart from the bigger companys. God Bless each and every one of you.

I think you are missing the big picture. With out Brickman a lot of the stuff you use today, mowers, 2-cycle equipment, etc, would be garbage. They have demanded better quality equipment and better customer service from vendors than in the past. This only trickles down to you as the small business owner. They may not do everything perfect but neither do you. It is the customer service and personal relationships that get them the jobs not money. You say greed, I say look farther than your nose and look at the big picture.

WILLIAM WEISS Rating:
Afraid to list your name Mr. Blah? Must be the cool-aid... I was in Chicago last month and Brickman was not on the job in the downtown parks, 'City Escape' was maintaining them.

Rating:
Blah, blah, blah....all of you bitching about Brickman are just jealous owners that can't compete with the "Big Dogs" Lower your PERSONAL profit margins a little and maybe you will win some bids...Brickman gives the client what they want based on the clients budget for the property...if you want a low priced contract, then service suffers.and just FYI: the Chicago city branches do an AMAZING job on their properties. Downtown Chicago is a better place w/ Brickman maintained properties

WILLIAM WEISS Rating:
S Jomides: You are right - as far as it goes. Safety and compliance may be the only things they do right, but their managers drink the cool-aid and tear the local pricing apart down to the low end...

S JOMIDES Rating:
Guys, instead of speaking with harsh tones, learn from company's like Brickman. I would rather compete with the likes of Brickman who focuses on safety and compliance versus others who are reckless and give our industry a bad name.

ThisSCARES the dickens out of me the level of positive hands on experance has declined. I'll never forget Dickmens non personal touch on their own Bank's landscape in '83 Glenview ILL. They missed several marks in design, install & care- placed bushes next to walk areas & drive's in/out-gress, all to destroy them thru the winters snowfall & snowploying, &poor care, job security? Thank GOD, South west Florida is out of their leage & is unobtainable. At one time I was CEO of an hundred-eigthy.ninety man company at 46-48 mowings a yr we would have to keep re-educating the cleints for a whole yr since Condo assoc would have to elect new president & officers every yr. We hired an ex-Brickman mgr. he failed horribly w/cleints yet non-english employees loved him, after firing him our worst crews quit & followed him,how lucky! The power of large corp, the greed of numbers not people nor plants. Small companies are the ultImate back, NO Bull, every employee knows the job & higher quality employee is easier to be created thru certification programs part inhouse part trade shows& prof orgFRANK

WILLIAM WEISS Rating:
Brickman has gone in amazingly cheap and then been thrown off more jobs in the metro NY region than can be counted. Boston is a new market for them to hone this strategy to perfection.

MANUEL GONZALES Rating:
From a former Brickman Employee who worked in Harrisburg, Pa back in 1998: Good Job Brickman you have the qualtiy and the management style to succeed in the Boston Market. I have always admired your good business sense, I sure learned alot when I worked for you in the past. I now work for John Deere Landscapes in Northern California. Good Job.

G KEITH BASHAW Rating:
“Boston is one of the last remaining large markets in the country where our clients needed us to be,” said COO Jeff Herold. THIS COMMENT MAKE NO SENSE. He obviously means that they hired client's, BEFORE they were there?! Nice Strategy.

Rating:
Hey Jack and Tom...Brickman hires Hispanic labor because they work twice as hard as any American citizens and because Americans do not want to do that type of work. Brickman is also very involved in the H2B program, which I am in full support of. Good for you Brickman....carry on w/ your great work!!

JACK REDBURN III Rating:
They are huge in our area but I have to wonder....... Do they hire anyone who speaks english ? I do not think they do and that should really be what the people who hire them look at.
