MILWAUKEE – Two zero-turn mower engines from Briggs & Stratton have been selected to power the Kubota Kommander ZG124E and ZG127E, within Kubota’s first zero-turn mower lineup for the residential market. The Briggs-equipped mowers are powered by either a 27- gross hp Commercial Turf Series engine or a 24- gross hp Professional Series engine*. Each engine has been especially outfitted for Kubota.
“The Kubota Kommander series needed engines that could provide professional results in a residential zero-turn mower,” said Dan Roche, marketing manager for Briggs & Stratton. “Briggs & Stratton Professional Series and Commercial Turf Series engines are a great match because these engines are engineered with commercial-grade components and design features that keep mowers powering through the toughest conditions.”
Briggs & Stratton Commercial Turf Series engines are engineered specifically for use in zero-turn mowers where they are exposed to higher levels of dust and debris. Their advanced debris management system and patented five-step debris removal air cleaner system maximizes dust and particle filtration and their stronger cylinder block structure and innovative head design extends engine life and lowers head temperature.
“We’re very excited about entering the residential zero-turn market and are confident we’ve equipped these mowers with commercial-grade features that will deliver great results and provide many years of satisfaction for operators,” said Christine Chapman, assistant turf products manager for Kubota. “Briggs & Stratton offers proven engines with features that contribute to power, productivity and a positive ownership experience.”
The Kubota Kommander Series ZG124E and ZG127E are equipped with a commercial-grade hydro-gear ZT-3100 transmission that delivers maximum power to the wheels and a large 4.3-gallon fuel tank capacity for fewer stops while working.
The Kommander’s mower deck is constructed of 10-gauge welded steel and its 5-inch deep design and high blade-tip speed allows more airflow through the blades enabling a higher quality of cut at a faster rate and even discharge of clippings. Kubota’s exclusive K-Lift mechanical one-push deck lift pedal and dial cam allow the operator to adjust to a wide range of cutting heights, available in quarter-inch increments from 1.5 to 4.5 inches, for a superior, even cut on a variety of turf types.
