SOLitude wins best company to work for award

The lake management organization won a National Association for Business Resources award out of 2,400 nominations.

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. – SOLitude Lake Management has been selected as one of the “Best & Brightest Companies to Work For in the Nation” by the National Association for Business Resources. The 2018 national winning companies were chosen out of 2,400 total nominations.

The competition identifies and honors organizations that display a commitment to excellence in operations and employee enrichment that lead to increased productivity and financial performance. This competition scores potential winners based on regional data of company performance and a set standard across the nation.

“Companies that recognize that their employees are the key to their success achieve staying power. Our 2018 winners create their human resource standards to ensure employee satisfaction and they set standards for every business to aspire toward,” said Jennifer Kluge, president and CEO of the National Association for Business Resources.

SOLitude employs more than 350 ecologists, biologists, environmental scientists, and freshwater management professionals servicing clients in 34 states. The company has many programs in place to ensure team members have their voices heard and their feedback considered. SOLitude’s staff advisory board convenes twice yearly with leadership to voice thoughts and share ideas for the future success of the company. A program called SOL X Labs serves as an internal innovation incubator, providing opportunities for motivated and top-performing team members to brainstorm.

All staff receive a profit-sharing bonus each year and have the ability to earn additional bonuses through internal programs that incentivize positive outcomes and high achievement. Additionally, SOLitude hosts SOL Summit, an annual all-staff strategy and team-building conference at a beach or resort location. This year’s 3-day event is at Virginia Beach.

Through the company’s environmental stewardship and community outreach program, The SOLution, team members are encouraged to volunteer during and outside of work hours and are rewarded for their individual volunteer efforts in the form of gift cards or a company donation to the staff member’s charitable organization of choice. Since the program began in 2012, SOLitude and staff have donated more than $355,000 in goods and in-kind services and 13,000 volunteer hours to local communities across the country.
