Laytonsville, Md. – Ruppert Landscape is pleased to announce the addition of Allison Reid, Eric Spangler and Chuck Mauldin to the company’s Atlanta Landscape Construction Branch. These hires were made to accommodate growth in the branch, both locally in the Atlanta market and at a jobsite in Houston, TX that is being run from the company’s Atlanta branch.
Reid, a resident of Houston, TX, has been hired as an assistant project manager to support the Exxon Mobile jobsite. She is a recent graduate of the University of Texas where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in architecture. In this position, she will be assisting operations in all aspects of the administration and installation of large or specialty landscape/hardscape projects for her branch. Her responsibilities include assisting field personnel and managing subcontractors, communicating with customers and project architects, and maintaining quality standards for the project. “Allison’s education and enthusiasm made her a great fit for this project,” says Patrick Luzier, branch manager of Ruppert’s Georgia Landscape Construction Branch. “She is a quick study, has a real can-do attitude and an attention to detail that will enable her to add value in many areas. We are looking forward to many good things from her.”
Spangler, a resident of Atlanta, GA, has been hired as an estimator. He is a recent graduate of the University of Mississippi, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in business management. He is OSHA 10 certified and has experience in the construction industry, where he interned with Barton Malow for two years. “Eric is a great match for our organization because he’s young, bright and is looking for an organization that will provide him with long-term growth opportunities,” says Luzier. “He has his eye on the position of project manager, and we will be working side-by-side with him to help him achieve his goals.”
Mauldin, a resident of Duluth, GA, has been hired as a senior estimator. He is a seasoned professional with 36 years of industry experience where he’s worked in a variety of roles including estimating, sales, preconstruction, project management and design. He holds a bachelor’s degree in landscape architecture from the University of Georgia’s School of Environmental Design and is a registered landscape architect and member of the American Society of Landscape Architects and the Georgia Chapter of Landscape Architects. He has worked on many notable projects including Turner Field, Avenues Forsyth and Avenues Webb Gin, Cobb Energy Performing Arts Center and the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino (Hollywood, FL). “The addition of Chuck to our team provides us with a wealth of experience in the Atlanta market,” says Luzier. “He is focused and enthusiastic and adds an experience level to our team that is second to none. We are looking forward to many good things from him.”
As estimators, both Spangler and Mauldin will be responsible for accurately estimating direct costs for landscape installation bids and change orders based on plans, specifications and site inspections, which includes verifying all material costs, qualifying subcontractor quotations, calculating labor hours, capturing miscellaneous expenses and assigning preliminary margins.
Along with the new hires in Atlanta, Ruppert Landscape is pleased to announce the promotion of John Cericole to the position of Shop Manager in our Philadelphia branch. In his new role, he will be responsible for managing, servicing and painting vehicle fleet and equipment, controlling costs, managing employees and enforcing policies and procedures.
“John started with us in July of 2011 and has proven to be an incredibly resourceful and hardworking employee,” says Mike Monde, Branch Manager for Ruppert’s Pennsylvania Landscape Management Branch. “His steady personality and ability to juggle multiple tasks simultaneously in a busy environment made him a great match for the position of Shop Manager when it became available. He’s well-liked by our team and committed to doing things the Ruppert way and we’re looking forward to many good things from him.”
Cericole, a resident of Elkton, MD, holds certifications in ASE engine brakes, steering and suspension and is a 2007 graduate of Lincoln Tech.
