CLEVELAND – Winter Equipment has announced two skid shoe assemblies for Arctic and ProTech pusher box plows, bringing innovations and enhanced performance to this increasingly popular style of plow.

The systems’ modular skid shoes, which are Carbide Matrix based, can be adjusted, rotated or reversed independently because of their modular nature. This increases efficiency and reduces downtime, while still performing on rough surfaces.

“We received feedback from customers that one-piece shoes were wearing unevenly, breaking down mid-season, and were difficult to repair in the field,” said Ken Marvar, vice president of sales at Winter Equipment. “We set out to develop a modular system that would incorporate our superior wear technology in a way that made more sense, lasts longer and reduces down time, while extending the life of the cutting edge.”

All styles of the modular assembly systems feature 5/8" steel adapter plates, skid shoes that are reinforced with Winter’s proprietary Carbide Matrix weld and all the installation hardware required. After the initial purchase, the modular shoes are the only replacement item required.

The systems are currently available for ProTech Series 1 and 2 pusher boxes, as well as Arctic LD and HD systems, and Winter Equipment has plans for additional lines as demand increases. The systems arrive complete with all parts, hardware and instructions in a single box. For more information on the skid shoe assembly systems, visit
