| January 3, 2014

DALLAS, Tex. – Effective January 1, 2014, Greater Texas Landscape Services (GTL) and Hadden Landscaping have merged. GTL is is a part of Tucson-based The Groundskeeper, the largest 100% employee owned landscape firm in the US. The combined entity will continue to operate under the two individual corporate names, but will share resources to ensure the same quality full service landscape care for which both firms have become known. Hadden’s locations in Plano and Fort Worth will complement GTL’s office in Lewisville. By combining forces, both firms and their common client base will enjoy a broader geographic service area in order to promptly serve customer needs quickly. The merger will allow enhanced shared benefits for employees as both employee groups will be a part of an ESOP (Employee Stock Ownership Plan).

GTL’s other service locations in Texas include East and West Texas, Waco, Austin, San Antonio, Rio Grande Valley and the Houston region. Deborah Cole, GTL’s president, founded the company in 1981 in Austin, Texas and has expanded services over the years to include areas throughout the State. The DFW branch opened in 2010. Hadden Landscaping was founded in Plano in 1979 by David Hadden.

“We are excited to be working with Hadden Landscaping. The Hadden team is of the same caliber as the GTL group and our operational values are completely in sync with each other. Our customers will benefit from the combined group serving their needs,” Cole says. “Our two companies strive for the best in landscape operations, value driven service, and ethical business practices. We both accept nothing but the best from our team members.”

“Finding a partner that shares our values and commitment to both customers and employees was of paramount importance to us," says David Hadden. "We look forward to the company continuing to grow and prosper as part of the Great Texas Landscapes.”

As a combined operation, GTL and Hadden will continue to provide landscape design, construction and maintenance services for commercial sites and homeowner associations throughout Texas. The Groundskeeper of Tucson, Arizona is the parent company for both entities. The Groundskeeper has operations in Arizona, Utah, Nevada, New Mexico and Texas.

Hadden Landscaping was represented by Ron Edmonds of The Principium Group in connection with this transaction.
