The warranty program developed by HMI minimizes clean-up and restoration costs for property owners.

CARY, N.C. - Doug Cowles, President and CEO of HMI, announced that its largest Authorized Member, The Davey Tree Expert Co. and its subsidiary The Care of Trees, is launching the treeShield Warranty to its clients in select markets across the country. treeShield is a service warranty program developed by HMI that enables a qualified property owner to minimize or avoid expensive tree clean-up and restoration costs following a storm. treeShield is only available through HMI's Authorized Member Network.

"We worked closely with Davey Tree and The Care of Trees during development of the treeShield Warranty," Cowles said. "We are excited to have their arborists selling the treeShield Warranty. Not only does it provide their existing clients with access to this premier service but it also greatly expands the coverage area for treeShield accelerating HMI's plans to market treeShield directly to consumers."

"We have been anxious to introduce treeShield to our clients since HMI introduced it to us last year," said Richard Foote, Davey vice president of business development and client services, residential/commercial services. "In our view, treeShield supports the work our arborists perform daily advising clients on how to better prepare trees to withstand severe weather. treeShield aligns with our commitment to standing behind our work and ensuring clients have peace of mind regarding their tree assets."

Superior NW in Woodinville, Wash., has become the first company on the West Coast to offer the treeShield Warranty.

"Anthony Moran, Superior's General Manager, is developing a new marketing campaign specifically around the treeShield Warranty,” Cowles said. “It's exciting to see our AM's embrace the program as a way to distinguish their service level and professionalism from that of their competition."

"I have been looking for a unique offering like treeShield for a long time" said Moran. "We have already generated a great deal of interest in the Warranty from our existing clients. Now I am presenting it to realtors and other local professionals that have clients who would value treeShield. The response has been very favorable. I would encourage all of HMI's AMs in this area to market treeShield, I'm convinced it will create a strong competitive advantage for us here."
