KANSAS CITY, Mo.– PBI-Gordon Corp., announced the availability of Q4 Plus Herbicide in New York. Q4 Plus was recently registered with the State of New York Department of Pesticide Regulation. The registration allows Q4 Plus “for use in New York State by spot treatment only. Not for sale, distribution, or use in Nassau or Suffolk Counties in New York State.”

Containing four active ingredients – Quinclorac, Sulfentrazone, 2,4-D and Dicamba – Q4 Plus offers users a versatile product to manage yellow nutsedge, and select grassy and broadleaf weeds established in turfgrass areas. Combined with the power and speed associated with the ProForm line of PBI-Gordon products, Q4 Plus provides a fast visual response with rapid decline of grassy and broadleaf weeds and a wide window of application for broadleaf weeds.

“There are many options for weed control, but with MSMA no longer available on residential turf, there is a need for a new and effective alternative to control both grassy and broadleaf weeds,” said Dave Loecke, product manager for PBI-Gordon.

“While there are questions about future use of MSMA with golf courses and sod farms, commercial turf uses such as business grounds, hospitals and parks would benefit from Q4 Plus herbicide. It provides users with the knockout power that they need to control most troublesome grassy and broadleaf weed species in established cool-season grasses. With the new state registration in New York, turf care professionals have access to an effective, fast-acting weed control solution that will give them the ability to see visual results within 24 to 48 hours after using Q4 Plus.”

Additionally, Q4 Plus offers the following distinctive features:
• Improved formulation for use on bluegrasses, perennial and annual ryegrass, and fescues
• Control of more than 80 weeds with post-emergence activity
• Less discoloration on cool-season turf compared to MSMA
• Suitable for applications up to 90 degrees
• Delivers 0.75 lbs ai/acre of Quinclorac for enhanced control of grassy weeds such as crabgrass and foxtail
