CLEVELAND – GIE Media Inc., publisher of Lawn & Landscape Media Group publications, has been named to The 2000 Folio: 40, a list of the fastest growing companies in the magazine industry.
GIE Media is a privately held Cleveland-based producer of business magazines, directories, conferences and trade shows, custom print communications, vertical market Internet portals and related e-communications products and services.

The 2000 Folio: 40 rankings appear in the April 15, 2000 issue of Folio Magazine, a monthly trade journal for the magazine publishing industry. Selection was based on ranking the companies’ aggregate growth between 1997 and 1999. This is the first time GIE Media has been named to the list. Other companies making the list include Penton Media, Miller-Freeman, Inc., Hanley-Wood, Cahners Business Information, Times Mirror Magazines and Time Inc.
The article attributed much of GIE Media’s 22 percent growth over the last three years to the company’s "green industry" media group that produces Lawn & Landscape and Interior Business magazines, educational and training reference books, educational conferences and the industry’s leading web site – www.lawnandlandscape.com.
GIE Media’s growth has also been spurred by the development of its Internet and web division – GIE Media.com – that has created information-rich web sites, including Lawn & Landscape Online, for each of the company’s magazine groups and expansion in the company’s conference and book divisions.
