ASCA & Snow Magazine Honors Leaders

Three snow and ice management contractors were recognized for their leadership within their companies, in their industry, and within their communities.

The Accredited Snow Contractors Association (ASCA) and Snow Magazine honored three industry leaders during a special ceremony taking place at the 2021 Executive Summit.

Leadership Awards were bestowed upon Brad Caton, founder and CEO of Invictus Professional Snowfighters, Port Coquitlam, BC; Rafael Diaz, co-founder and CEO of Diaz Group, Chicago; and Larry Yaffa, CEO of Brilar, West Bloomfield Township, Mich.

“Every year we honor leaders from our industry who exemplify leadership within their companies, within our industry, and with the communities they call home,” says Kevin Gilbride, ASCA executive director. “This year’s class of professionals easily check all of those boxes and now join an exclusive club of Leadership Award recipients who continue to influence and grow the professional snow and ice management industry.”

During their acceptance speeches, each award recipient underlined the need for fostering a strong internal culture as a key to not only their success, but success throughout the industry. In addition, recipients also stressed the need for a united industry in pursing goals that addressed common issues and benefited the entire North American snow and ice management community.

Each member of this year’s class was nominated by their industry peers and chosen by a select committee of ASCA members. The ASCA and Snow Magazine began recognizing industry leaders in 2010.
