L&L columnist to host social media seminar

Jeff Korhan will spend two days helping small businesses build their social media strategy.

Lawn & Landscape columnist and new media marketing consultant Jeff Korhan will be conducting a Social Media Summit in Chicago for small businesses on Sept. 29th and 30th.

Korhan said, “After five years of giving keynote presentations and a few workshops on this topic, it’s now time to offer a select group of small businesses what they have most requested – two full days in an interactive environment, working hands on with me and their peers to make the most of this highly relevant business practice.”

The Social Media Summit is designed to give businesses the necessary foundational structure for building their social media strategy, as well as direct experience with the most reliable tools and best practices for getting results.

Participants will learn:

• How to write headlines and copy that get your content ranked highly by Google.
• Why a content marketing strategy is essential for encouraging social media engagement – and how to build yours.
• How to convert social engagement into referrals and new business.
• Why you want to get your business ready for mobile marketing – and how to get started now.

The Social Media Summit will be September 29th and 30th at the recently renovated O’Hare Marriott Courtyard. The special price of $397 includes breakfast, lunch, and all materials. The discounted room rate of $129 also includes free Wi-Fi.

“Since this is my first event of this kind, I’m intentionally offering special pricing for those registering by September 6th and limiting participation to 18. After that date the price goes up $100 until all seats are filled. You can bring your laptop but it’s not necessary,” Korhan said.

Korhan says that the Web is now central to business – and its going social. According to a recent study by the Pew Research Center, 65% of all adults online are also using social networking to freely share their recommendations about businesses.
