Dwyer Group welcomes new CFO and general counsel

Jon Shell and Grayson Brown have joined the company in their respective positions, effective immediately.

WACO, Texas – Dwyer Group has announced that Jon Shell has joined the company as Chief Financial Officer and Grayson Brown has joined the company as General Counsel, effective immediately.

Shell comes to Dwyer Group after serving as chief financial officer for Barbeque Integrated, a portfolio company of Sun Capital Partners that operates 66 Smokey Bones restaurants. His duties included accounting, finance, IT, risk management, new restaurant development, facilities purchasing and supply chain functions. He also served on the performance improvement team at Sun Capital. Shell is a certified public accountant who began his career at Arthur Andersen. He earned both a bachelor’s degree in business administration and a bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte.
 
Shell succeeds Tom Buckley who is retiring from Dwyer Group after 18 years with the company.
 
Brown most recently served as general counsel for Midas, a part of TBC Corporation, which also owns NTB Tire & Service Centers, Tire Kingdom and other brands. Prior to that, he served as general counsel for Tasti D-Lite and Planet Smoothie and for Sona MedSpa – two roles where he worked for Jim Amos, a past chairman of the International Franchise Association. Brown holds a bachelor’s degree from Virginia Tech as well as MBA and Juris Doctorate degrees from Regent University.  
 
Brown succeeds Duke Johnston who worked at Dwyer Group for 21 years and is entering private practice.
