Toro exclusive sponsor of educational program

The company donated $20,000 to the Irrigation Foundation at the Irrigation Show.

FALLS CHURCH, VA .In support of the Irrigation Foundation’s Irrigation E3 Program, The Toro Company presented the Foundation with a $20,000 check Nov. 20 at the Irrigation Show & Education Conference in Phoenix. Toro was the exclusive sponsor of this year’s E3 Program.

Founded in 2012, the Irrigation E3 Program aims to actively engage the next generation of irrigators through three E’s: exposure, experience and education. Academics nominate outstanding students for consideration as an E3 learner and/or apply to become an E3 leader themselves. Those selected as either an Irrigation E3 learner or leader receive an all-expenses-paid trip to the Irrigation Show. At the show, they participate in education classes, interact with the latest technologies, network with industry leaders and gain a real-life perspective of the irrigation industry.

“This year saw a record number of exceptionally qualified applicants,” said J. Louis “JR” Bergantino, Jr., current chair of the Foundation’s Board of Trustees. “Because of Toro’s support, 11 students and two faculty members were selected to join us in Phoenix and will be able to actively engage in all the irrigation industry has to offer.”

“Preparing the next generation of irrigation professionals is important to the future of our industry and we are pleased to support the Irrigation E3 Program. Seeing the latest in irrigation technologies and participating in education sessions with current professionals gives students and educators the tools they need to move our industry forward,” said Judson McNeil, president of The Toro Foundation’s Giving Program.
