Weller Brothers eyes expansion in Des Moines

The expansion, set for this fall, will mark the company's third branch across three different states.

Weller Brothers Landscape Professionals is planning a Des Moines expansion early this fall.

“We are so excited to bring our high-end landscape architecture, construction, and maintenance services to the greater Des Moines area through this expansion,” says Cole Weller, president and CEO of Weller Brothers Landscape Professionals. “The team we have moving to start the branch location are two of our rockstars, and I could not be happier for them to take on this opportunity. Des Moines is an attractive market, especially with all of the growth in the western suburbs. The expansion also aligns perfectly with our strategic growth plan to enter more markets throughout the midwest over the next five years.”

Weller Brothers Landscaping is in its 22nd year of business in the Sioux Falls area in South Dakota and in its fifth year of business in Rochester, Minnesota. In both locations, the company provides residential and commercial landscape design and maintenance services.

The company has approximately 150 employees company-wide and expects to earn roughly $25-$28 million in revenue this year.

The new Des Moines branch will be managed by Matt and Anna Stadel, who are currently landscape production manager and landscape architect, respectively, at the Rochester location.

“We are beyond excited for this new opportunity to grow and develop another location for Weller Brothers. With the great support from our other locations, we have no doubt that we will be able to create an awesome workplace backed by high-quality craftsmanship – both of which are traits of our two current branches,” Matt Stadel says.

The company will begin scheduling landscape design consultations in the Des Moines area in early August 2023 with plans to expand into lawn maintenance services within the following year.
