- Always, always be tied in/secured anytime you are more than 4 feet off the ground. Yes, even a 4-foot fall can cause serious injury. It's not worth the risk.
- Always, always wear personal protective gear.
- They should join the Tree Care Industry Association to gain the full operational and safety knowledge that will keep them alive and their business thriving. http://www.treecareindustry.org/index.aspx.
- They should become a Certified Tree Care Safety Professional (CTSP). http://www.treecareindustry.org/public/ctsp_about.htm. Offered through TCIA this is an awesome program designed to keep treeworkers safe in our industry.
