Helping hands

While we will continue to provide you with the best content covering the green industry, we will look slightly different in 2026.

“Every new beginning comes from some other beginning’s end.” No, Lawn & Landscape isn’t closing up shop. Quite the opposite. As the industry continues to grow, we are as busy as ever with our print, digital and face-to-face components.

And I’ll save you from Googling the lyrics above. They come from the 1999 Semisonic masterpiece, “Closing Time” which, I’m sure, is still a staple in bars across America around 2 a.m.

While we will continue to provide you with the best content covering the green industry, we will look slightly different in 2026.

We’ve been running old columns from Jim Huston who passed away in April of this year as a tribute. But come 2026, we will wind those down. Jim’s wisdom will of course still live on to read on our website lawnandlandscape.com.

And Bruce Wilson is also writing his last regular column for us, which you can read on Page 12. While I will certainly nag him periodically to share some of his decades of wisdom though periodic contributions, he’s stepping away from being a regular contributor. Wilson 360, the company he founded, will still be providing a monthly column.

It’s easy to take for granted the number of bright people in this industry who are willing to help anyone who asks, like our columnists, which also includes the Harvest Group. I just wrapped up back-to-back trips to two of the largest industry trade shows, and it’s a good reminder of how friendly and willing this industry is to help each other.

You run a business that helps keep the world looking beautiful, but there is so much more work that has to be done behind the scenes to make you profitable.

Just remember, when you are struggling with something in your personal or professional life, there are always people available and willing to help. So take a breath and take advantage of it.
