NEWARK, N.J. – Rhodeside & Harwell, a landscape architecture and planning firm, established a permanent office in downtown Newark. The firm, which is based in Alexandria, Va., has maintained a project office in Newark for five years and has completed numerous design projects in the region.
Faye Harwell serves as managing partner for the office. Harwell, along with key staff, including associates David Carro and Aaron Feldman-Grosse, has overseen a number of major projects in Newark and throughout the New York and New Jersey metropolitan area. Recent planning and landscape architecture initiatives in New Jersey include the award-winning restoration of the historic Essex County Branch Brook Park in Newark and master plans for Cadwalader Park in Trenton and for Briant Pond Park in Union County.
Other notable projects include the design of the George Mason National Memorial on the National Mall in Washington; design of a new waterfront park at the National Aquarium in Baltimore; development of the landscape plan for the Capitol Square in Richmond, Va.; a new campus building at Virginia Tech; landscape design at U.S. embassies worldwide and development of a new landscape for the U.S. Supreme Court.
