Lumien settles patent infringement suit

PORT WASHINGTON, N.Y. — WAC Lighting and Lumien Lighting (“Lumien”) reached a settlement of the patent litigation suit filed by WAC Lighting against several Lumien’s landscape lighting products. As part of the settlement, Lumien and its China-based parent, Jiangsu Sur Lighting Co., Ltd. (“JSL”), have agreed to no longer sell or distribute in the United States or import into the United States the landscape lighting products implicated in the lawsuit.

WAC Lighting filed the lawsuit in the United States District Court for the Northern District of Georgia in October 2019. The complaint named several models of Lumien’s spotlights and flood lights, as infringing U.S. Patent Nos. 10,323,832 and 10,465,888 – just two of WAC Lighting’s many patented inventions in the lighting space. The landscape spotlights and floodlights identified in the complaint were distributed in the U.S. by companies such as AQ Lighting Group, Dabmar, Lumien and others. Lumien and JSL have agreed to stop selling all their products accused of infringement in the complaint, in particular the spotlight and the flush light.
