Richard Karn is here to improve your home

Karn sat down with Lawn & Landscape to talk about his Home Improvement rewatch, his relationship with Tim Allen and why he's an ambassador for DoMyOwn.

Home Improvement starts with you

At least, that's what Richard Karn — who played Al Borland on the popular TV show Home Improvement — wants landscapers and homeowners to think.

Karn is now a brand ambassador for DoMyOwn, taking on the company's unofficial title of chief solutions officer. DoMyOwn helps users answer questions related to lawn care, maintenance equipment and pest control. It also supplies the tools necessary to take on the jobs users are trying to get done.

So, whether a landscaper's looking for answers — or it's Tool Time — Karn jumped aboard DoMyOwn's team.

Out in the field

In an exclusive interview with Lawn & Landscape, Karn talks about how he found DoMyOwn and why he still handles much of his own yardwork. He also explains that he's rewatching Home Improvement now for the first time, reminiscing on the scenes that made the cut — and those that didn't. Plus, he talks about his relationship with Tim Allen and how he's been able to make cameos with Allen on several other shows, including Last Man Standing.
