BRILLION, Wis. – Ariens Co. is thankful this holiday season for reaching a manufacturing milestone: The company produced its 2 millionth Sno-Thro on Nov. 29. To commemorate the event, Ariens invited employees, vendors, community leaders and elected officials to witness the final testing of the 2 millionth two-stage snow thrower produced at the company’s Brillion, Wis., manufacturing facility.
“The strength of Ariens’ Sno-Thro legacy is a credit to employees who work relentlessly to improve the efficiency of our manufacturing process so we can remain competitive in a global economy,” says Dan Ariens, company president. “We look forward to continuing to produce long-lasting, durable machines that are passed down from generation to generation.”
Ariens media representatives say the company has been watching their production and were prepared to reach the 2 million mark this year. The company began producing the Sno-Thro in 1960; today, annual production is more than 50 times the amount produced in the first year. The Brillion, Wis., facility uses all-steel construction for the machines and most metal components are manufactured on-site.
To commemorate the event and Ariens’ contributions to its local community, the 2 millionth Sno-Thro will be on permanent display at the Ariens Museum and the company will donate a new 926 Professional Sno-Thro to the City of Brillion and to the Brillion Public School System. In anticipation of the event, Ariens employees also participated in a weeklong charity trivia contest on behalf of local nonprofit organizations. The winning employee team received a Sno-Thro to donate to its designated organization.
