Advanced Nurseries, a subsidary of Advanced Growing Systems, hosted the Georgia State Botanical Gardens Georgia Green Industry Association Annual Awards Reception in Athens, Ga. This was part of the WINTERGreen Trade Show, which attracted more than 6,000 attendees.
"Our goal is to continually affiliate ourselves with professional industry organizations to remain on the forefront of industry momentum and current trends," said Bill Reynierson, senior VP of sales and operations for Advanced Nurseries. "We intend to be the dominant player in the Southeastern US and cultivating and maintaining the proper vendor relationships is paramount to our success."
The Georgia Green Industry Association (GGIA) is a non-profit trade association, incorporated in the State of Georgia, representing the interests of the state's nursery, garden center and landscape industry. Membership is comprised of nursery stock growers, landscape contractors and maintenance firms, garden centers, arborists and allied suppliers. Current membership totals more than 1,000 professional industry leaders.
The GGIA Annual Awards Reception was attended by multiple industry professionals and State Representatives including Tommy Irvin (State of GA Commissioner of Agriculture), Scott Angle (Dean of University of Georgia), Walter Reeves (Television and Radio Garden Show Host) and John Strickland (past GGIA Chairman, former MALTA President and President of the GA Certified Landscape Professional Testing).
"The quality of attendees was phenomenal," said Chris Nichols, CEO of Advanced Growing Systems. "We will be more and more involved in both regional and national events as we stay on target to meet our 2007 goals. We have made it a priority from day one to surround ourselves in every facet of this industry with the best and most talented available. This event is definitely part of that strategy."
