The Associated Landscape Contractors of America (ALCA) Educational Foundation (AEF) announced that it recently received a $25,000 donation from The Bruce Company of Wisconsin, Middleton, Wis. In addition, the foundation awarded seven scholarships in cooperation with various companies.
The announcement of the $25,000 gift was made at the recent annual Executive Forum sponsored by the ALCA in Cancun, Mexico. Leland Bruce, chief executive officer of The Bruce Company, will be formally recognized for this contribution during ALCA’s Green Industry Conference on November 16, 2002.
“The Bruce Company of Wisconsin epitomizes the goals of ALCA’s Educational Foundation," Ott stated, according to a May 1 ALCA press release.
Leland Bruce founded The Bruce Company when he was only 12 years old. The company now employs more than 550 people, and will celebrate its 50th anniversary this year. "The AEF is proud to have The Bruce Company as an Ambassador because of the fine example they have set for young people entering the green industry," Ott continued.
The Bruce Company is distinguished as an Ambassador of the AEF. Contributions at the Ambassador level entitle donors to name and establish the criteria for their scholarships.

- Theodore W. Brickman, Jr. Scholarship, sponsored by AEF and The Brickman Group: Trina Jackson, Brigham Young University
