HERNDON, Va. - Registration is still open for the 2001 Associated Landscape Contractors of America (ALCA) One-On-One Mentor Program, a member benefits program launched last year to provide personal guidance to exterior or interior landscape contractors who want to grow their businesses.
The program runs from July 2001 through April 2002, but registration in the program remains open to interested ALCA members. The program matches ALCA member mentors - typically larger companies with three or more years of ALCA membership - with new member protégés - companies with less than a year of membership with ALCA.
Daniel Steff, NorthCoast Lawn Care, Erie Pa., a protégé last year, said, "We truly believe that ALCA has been a very significant part of our success to this point and encourage any landscape contractor to get involved in the mentor networking program."
The One-on-One Mentor Program is personalized with one mentor assigned to one protégé and provides a forum for new landscape contracting firms - the protégés - to learn from the success of more experienced firms - the mentors. Companies are matched by services and region of the country and are encouraged, but not required, to meet face to face at the Green Industry Conference or through a visit to each other’s facilities.
Space is limited in the program and availability is on a first-come basis.
ALCA members interested in the One-On-One Mentor Program should contact Judy McCloud, ALCA membership manager, at 800/395-2522, or by e-mail at judymccloud@alca.org.
