The Associated Landscape Contractors of America (ALCA) has selected Kurt Kluznik, of Yardmaster, Inc., Painesville, Ohio, as president of the national association for the year. He was sworn into office during the ALCA Executive Forum in San Diego, Calif., in February.
Serving as ALCA’s president gives Kluznik the opportunity to share what he has learned from previous association leaders.
“The green industry needs to take its rightful place in terms of professionalism, business practices, public policy, image, and profitability,” Kluznik notes. “For ALCA and our members, the chance to provide that leadership is the opportunity of an era. With the development of our recent strategic growth plan, ALCA and the green industry are on a critical path to major growth – the kind of growth that will transform the green industry, ALCA, and all of our members. I am excited to be a part of ALCA as we and the green industry reach new levels.”
Recognizing the value of association involvement, Kluznik joined ALCA in 1979. He has served in many leadership positions over the years, including chair of the Certification Board of Governors, chair of the Education Committee, founder of the Recruiting Committee, Exterior Landscape Council chair, and secretary/treasurer on ALCA’s Board of Directors.
“This industry’s best kept secret is the fact that it is populated by the most generous, sharing, talented, and selfless individuals,” Kluznik comments. “My involvement in ALCA leadership provides me with an ideal opportunity to give back to the industry all that it has provided to me over the years and to contribute to the advancement of the landscape industry.”
