The Associated Landscape Contractors of America announces the release of its 2004 Publications Catalog.

The Associated Landscape Contractors of America is pleased to announce the release of its 2004 Publications Catalog, which includes more than 150 industry resources for the professional landscape contractor.

Each publication in the catalog was reviewed and selected by ALCA to ensure the kind of specialized information that exterior and interior landscape construction, maintenance and design/build companies need to build company profits while keeping costs down. The catalog offers a wide array of resources in areas such as business, marketing, safety, design, estimating, English and Spanish employee training and plant identification. Well-known green industry consultants and experts such as Frank Ross, James Huston and Michael Dirr authored publications in the catalog.

Newly released standouts include the following:

The new Blueprint for Success: Proven Systems for the Installation and Design/Build Contractor is a must publication for the growing landscape installation and design/build firm. The manual can be used to develop an organization chart, write job descriptions and develop procedures and forms in the areas of marketing, sales, design, installation planning and purchasing.

The popular Employee Compensation Report was updated in 2003. This industry-specific report provides the latest green industry data to stay competitive in the employment game. It includes salary and benefits data compiled from exterior and interior landscape companies from across the country.

The Landscape Training Manual for Installation Technicians, the Landscape Training Manual for Maintenance Technicians, and the Landscape Training Manual for Irrigation Technicians have easy-to-read text, numerous illustrations and photos, and the latest industry information. These manuals offer training material for green industry employees. They are also study guides to prepare candidates for the ALCA Certified Landscape Technician-Exterior and Canada’s Certified Horticultural Technician exams.

The much-anticipated, very affordable Spanish version of 180 Safety Talks for Supervisors is now available. It contains all the information from the English version and makes an excellent addition to training programs for Hispanic-speaking employees.
