American Society of Irrigation Consultants will add Janet Luehrs to an exclusive group of professionals recognized as ASIC Fellows.
This honor is bestowed upon individuals who have demonstrated exceptional leadership, professionalism and commitment to independent irrigation development, design and management principles. Luehrs's induction ceremony will take place during the 2025 ASIC National Conference Awards Banquet on April 15 in Savannah.
Luehrs’s journey in the landscape and irrigation industry began in 1975 when she and her husband launched a landscape contracting business, which evolved into a landscape design company in 1986. In 1990, she was invited by Ann Runley, owner of Brookwater, to join the company. Although a recession briefly interrupted her career, Luehrs returned to Brookwater in 1994 and discovered her passion for irrigation design. Eventually, she purchased Brookwater when Runley retired and continued to build her expertise in the field.
Luehrs joined ASIC in 2010. Starting as a member of the Northern California Chapter, where she still serves as treasurer, she was elected to the National Board of Directors in 2013. Over the years, she has held several leadership positions, including secretary, treasurer, vice president, president and past president. Luehrs has also contributed to numerous committees, including conference, certification, NALP NCLC and nominating.
As an irrigation consultant, Luehrs offers design, project observation and water management services for a wide range of landscape irrigation projects. Many of her projects have received ASIC Excellence in Irrigation Awards. She holds the titles of Certified Professional Irrigation Consultant (CPIC), Certified Irrigation Designer (CID), and Certified Landscape Irrigation Auditor (CLIA).
Luehrs gives credit to Ann Runley’s mentorship and now mentors her own team of design associates.
