Middlefield, Ohio — Myers Industries, Inc. has acuired the remaining 50 percent interest in Amerikan, a nursery container joint venture from Florikan. Myers Industries had previously aquired 50 percent of the Sebring, Florida-based operation through its purchase of ITML Horticultural Products in 2007.
The Amerikan operation, with the latest technology for producing blow-molded nursery containers in the Southeast region and manufacturing with 100 percent recycled plastics, will be fully integrated into the Myers Industries Lawn & Garden Group.
Florida is the second largest floriculture producing state, and directors at Myers Industries believe this move will reinforce their business optimization program, focusing on customer satisfaction and enhanced service levels.
